Sleep and Mental Health: Why Rest Matters

Poor sleep can make anxiety and depression worse, and those same conditions can make sleep harder. Improving one often helps the other.
Build a wind-down routine
Dim lights and put screens away 30–60 minutes before bed. Reading, stretching or a warm shower signal your body that it's time to rest.
Keep it consistent
Going to bed and waking up at the same time — even on weekends — strengthens your natural sleep rhythm.
When to talk with someone
If sleep problems last for weeks or come with worry, low mood or nightmares, a therapist can help find the root cause.
